Demo wants Bristol Bay protected forever

Former U.S. Interior Secretary Bruce Babbitt says the tug-of-war over proposed oil and gas drilling in Alaska's Bristol Bay ought to be brought to an end: He proposes that the bay be designated "a national marine monument."

Fisherman dies after rescue from sinking boat

A 47-year-old man who died after he and another man were rescued Friday afternoon while their boat sank off of the coast of Half Moon Bay has been identified by the San Mateo County coroner’s office as Gary Allen Christensen.

Still no one from interior on Fish Board

It remains to be seen if an Interior representative will get a seat on the Alaska Board of Fisheries.

Gov. Sean Parnell reappointed Vince Webster of King Salmon to the Alaska Board of Fisheries while at the same time appointing a new member, Thomas Kluberton, of Talkeetna, to the seven-member board responsible for regulating the state’s subsistence, commercial, sport and personal-use fisheries.
