Feds list Pacific smelt as threatened

As expected, the smelt that used to return by the millions to the Cowlitz River have joined more than another dozen local fish stocks on the endangered species list.

Tuesday, the federal NOAA Fisheries Service announced its decision to list Pacific smelt as a threatened species.
